Should tomato sauce be stored in the cupboard or fridge?

Famous tomato sauce brand Heinz has finally settled the debate of whether tomato sauce should be stored in the fridge or not.

We thought it was common knowledge that tomato sauce should be stored in the fridge, but, apparently, there is a big debate around this matter.

Many people believe that tomato sauce belongs in the fridge, but a substantial amount of people disagree. 

In a poll conducted by Heinz, 53.6% of the 2,342 people who voted believe ketchup should be stored in the fridge, as opposed to 46.4% who believe it should be stored in the cupboard. 

To clear the air, the popular tomato sauce brand Heinz finally revealed where tomato sauce should be stored.

Taking to Twitter, the American food company clearly stated that “Ketchup. Goes. In. the. Fridge!!!”

According to the product information on the bottles themselves, we should indeed be refrigerating the ketchup after opening it and consuming the bottle within eight weeks – not that anyone really eats it all within eight weeks.
