Will Smith has responded to the rumour after a man claiming to be Will's former assistant made the claims during an interview.

"This story is completely fabricated," Will's representative told E! News in a statement, "and the claim is unequivocally false."

Pinkett Smith also responded to the allegation, dubbing them "ridiculous" and "nonsense”, adding that they will take legal action.

"This is a person that tried a shakedown, a money shakedown that didn't work," she said in a preview of a November 16 appearance on 'The Breakfast Club'.

"We're gonna take legal action. Because it's one thing to have your opinion about somebody, versus just making up salacious, malicious stories. That's actionable. So, we gonna roll with that."

This comes after Jada Pinkett Smith revealed that she has been separated from her husband, Will Smith, since 2016, six years before the infamous Oscars slap.

The Hollywood power couple's marriage came under an intense spotlight at last year's Academy Awards, when Smith struck comedian Chris Rock on stage for making a joke about his wife.

But the pair had already been living "totally separate lives" for years before the notorious incident, Pinkett Smith told NBC News.

"By the time we got to 2016, we were just exhausted with trying," she said in an advance clip from an interview to promote her new memoir, 'Worthy'.
