Coronavirus infections surpass 100k in Gauteng

South Africa’s Covid-19 epicentre of Gauteng has reached more than 100 000 infections.
Gauteng, which accounts for 36% of the total national cases, now has 103 713 coronavirus infections.
Health Minister, Zweli Mkhize, says in his daily report that the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country rose to 287 796 by Monday evening.

The Western Cape has 79 444 cases, while the Eastern Cape stands on 52 058.
In the 24 hours up to Monday night, there were 93 new Covid-19 related deaths, bringing the total number of deaths to 4 172.
