SA Covid-19 recovery rate creeps above 60%

The country’s Covid-19 recovery rate is showing a gradual improvement with an increase to above 60%.

According to the latest Covid-19 statistics released by Health Minister Zweli Mkhize on Tuesday evening, the recovery rate has improved to 62.5 %.
Out of the almost 460 000 people who have tested positive with coronavirus at least 287 000 have recovered.

Currently, 2.8 million tests have thus far been conducted with 28 000 tests recorded in the 24 hours leading up to Tuesday night.
Gauteng continues to remain the Covid-19 epicentre, accounting for close to 36% of the total infections.
It is followed by the Western Cape and the Eastern Cape.
