Four dead in Durban storm

The Durban storm death toll has risen.

KwaZulu-Natal EMS say at least four people have died since the storm hit the coastal city on Tuesday morning.
KZN EMS spokesperson Robert Mckenzie says a 12 year-old has died after being washed away near Port Shepstone.
"A young boy was swept away by a small stream in Izingolweni."

A former police officer died after a container fell onto his car in Bayhead on Tuesday.
Provincial police spokesperson Thulani Zwane says an off-duty officer was in the vehicle at the time.
"An off-duty police officer was rushed to hospital for treatment. We will open an inquest docket," Zwane says.

A municipal worker died at the Durban beachfront.
City officials say the wall she was using as shelter from the storm collapsed on her.
A 46-year-old man also drowned while trying to cross a river early in the morning.
Meanwhile, local government officials say an eight-year-old girl was struck by lightning outside her home last night.
