Patience Mbiko is a widow and mother of three from Hammanskraal. She does her best to improve her and her family's lives.

She works as a food handler at a school for a stipend, to provide for her 16-year old son and 12-year old twin daughters. When her brother passed away, she took on the burden of the funeral costs - a debt she is still paying off.

She completed an ECD teaching course and wants to complete the next phase to work as a teacher, a dream she simply cannot afford. Patience has tried everything she can and then she went to an internet café to write to Good Morning Angels.

ORIGINAL REQUEST:

Dear Good Morning Angels

Greetings to you all the angels

Before I say many things, I need to thank you all Mr. Martin Bester and Good Morning Angels, not forgetting Jacaranda for giving you the chance to do good  to others. You are doing a marvellous job.  You are helping so many families and giving them 2nd chance in their lives. Everything you do or touch turn into gold. I always pray to God for you and your families that may God continue blessing and protect upon you all the time and all your wishes and heart desires can come true.

It is my wish to go on a holidays with my kids once in our lives and be able to see big smiles in their little faces. And come back relaxed and recharged ready to deal with the real world. I also wish to meet with you in person, Mr. Martin Bester and the crew of Good Morning Angels. When that is realized it will be a blessed day for me.

I hope you can touch my life also and turn it into gold. South Africans are blessed to have people like you who still love and care for others.

My name is Patience Mbiko who lives at Hammanskraal North of Pretoria. I am a widow with 3 kids, 1 boy (16) and 12 years old twin girls. I am recently working as food handler at a local school, earning a stipend.

I am highly indebted and struggling to pay my debts. I am earning R2100 stipend and grants for my twin girls. :- transport for my twin girls which is R 11 400.00, money borrowed to finance my studying R 21 600.00, burial expenses for my late brother  R 25 000.00 (R 7000.00 is paid but struggling to pay R 18 000.00 balance, my total debts – R 51 000.00

I am also asking to be asking to be assisted to find a permanent  job  because my contract lasts for 2 years. It will end in April 2025 and I really need of a permanent job so I can continue taking care of my family and loved ones.

I am still living in a shack with broken furnitures from the heat and rain. So any help will be much appreciated... in my language there is a saying that (Ngwana o sa elleng otlo swela tharing) I am pouring my heart out to you. So it’s me crying out loud and pleading to you to have mercy on me and my situation. Please help me as I was studying, I managed to complete and pass ECD level 4 but due to financial constraints, I am not able to complete my level 5 and more. Any general work around Pretoria will be appreciated.

Yours Sincerely,

Jacaranda and Good Morning Angels listener
