Giving a 24-year-old the opportunity to continue studying
Updated | By Breakfast with Martin Bester
Willard Batteries has sponsored Pitso Moleko's 2025 Unisa Law studies with a R50,000 bursary.

Twenty-four-year-old Pitso Moleko matriculated in Mamelodi in 2019. He is studying law through Unisa, taking the subjects he can afford while supporting himself financially.
His mother works as a domestic worker. While she is incredibly proud of her son, she's been unable to assist him financially with his education.
As she is battling cancer, all her extra funds are needed for travel to and from treatment at a state hospital.

For many years, Moleko’s mother has worked for pensioner Merryl Pierce, who has supported the family as much as possible. Moleko and his mother live with Pierce rent-free.
Pierce wrote to Good Morning Angels on Moleko’s behalf, requesting consideration for the Willard Bursary Fund to cover his R50,000 tuition fees.

ORIGINAL REQUEST:
Good morning.
Please consider Pitso Moleko for a bursary. He is self-supporting and is trying to study law through Unisa. His mother is employed by me (I am a pensioner), and he lives on our property rent-free.
He secured employment but was paid his December salary in mid-January, so he was unable to join his mother and family for Christmas. A bursary will give him financial relief and enable him to study all his chosen subjects. He is a hard-working and diligent student. He passed all the subjects he studied last year.
Pitso Moleko's Unisa subjects are:
- Crime Typologies
- Victimology
- Principles of Crime Prevention, Reduction, and Control
- Contemporary Criminological Issues
- Exploration of Crime
- Dealing with Youth Offenders
- Forensic Industrial Psychology
- Formal Reaction to Crime
- Child and Youth Misbehavior
These subjects will be continued in 2025.
The estimated cost for the year is R50,000.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Merryl Pierce
