BACKGROUND:  Lerato Moutlana from Seshego in Limpopo is a single mother of five children: four daughters and a son - all between the ages of three and 13. She lives in her parent’s home - but they have both passed on. Lerato has been unemployed for a while and has been doing piece-jobs to bring in money. She is struggling to find a permanent job - and the national lockdown has put the brakes on any such plans. She is dependent on government grants for her children to survive. To make things worse, Lerato was scammed out of the little money that she had through a cellphone scam. Her friend, Isaac, is very worried about her and her children, and nominated Lerato for assistance.

ORIGINAL REQUEST:

Lerato is an unemployed and a single mother with 4 daughters and a boy. Her 1st born daughter is 13, the 2nd one is 11, the 4th one is 4, the 5th one is 2 and the 3rd born is a boy 9 years old. She lives with her children in her parents’ house who are both passed away. Her only income at home is the children's grant money. She hardly has any money left after receiving the grant, because she has to buy groceries, pay municipality bills, funeral policy and pay creche fee for both of her youngest daughters. She never has enough to buy her children clothes. She sometimes gets help from her aunt in the form of clothing from her organisation as donation. She is a very caring mother and always put her children first.

Kind regards

Isaac
