Good Morning Angels: Angel assistance for Peace Lovers FC
Updated | By Breakfast with Martin Bester
Good Morning Angels assisted Peace Lovers Football Club from Kya Sands this Wednesday.
BACKGROUND: The Peace Lovers FC is a community football club from Kya Sands, managed and trained by local residents Kamogelo Mojela and Tshidi Mothiba.
Mojela works as a cleaner in an office block and her husband, Mothiba, is a self-employed electrician, but their passion is the children in the community and soccer.
“Our team is made up of 14 high school boys who live around Kya Sands. These boys do not want to get involved in gangs and drugs. We live next to our community soccer field and the boys came to us and said they rather wanted to play soccer. That’s how the Peace Lovers FC started”, explains Mojela.
"All of us love soccer and our main aim is for the boys to have fun while being safe and healthy. But, we also teach them skills like communication, teamwork, discipline, and timekeeping."
Mojela is very proud of the boys and what they have achieved with the little they have. Now, they are ready to play in local community tournaments, which requires more than commitment - they need a financial boost. That’s why they wrote to Good Morning Angels, to ask for assistance with the basics: a team kit, soccer boots, a few balls, and a first aid kit, to get this team of enthusiastic young soccer players to the next level.

ORIGINAL REQUEST:
Dear Good Morning Angels,
We are Peace Lovers FC, a small community-based youth league soccer team with 14 players looking to compete in other local games against community teams in surrounding areas, Cosmo City, Diepsloot, Zandspruit, etc. The age of the Players ranges from 15 to 20 years of age. All the players are still in school.
The team is run by community members Kamogelo Mojela and Tshidi Mothiba, who live within Kya Sands. We saw the need to help the youth with a community sport that could unite them and keep them safe.
Our aim as a community soccer team is to first and foremost have fun, but we also aim to help the youth within the Kya Sands community by providing a safe and open environment for them to be in. We also want them to grow their passion and love for the game while teaching them skills such as communication, time management, and teamwork.
We are asking for assistance with the below supplies for the team to compete:
• Soccer Balls
• Uniforms
• Shoes
• Cones
• Goalkeeper Gear
• First-aid Kit
Kind regards,
Kamogelo Mojela & Tshidi Mothiba
