That is exactly what Liesl Laurie set out to do to get herself ready for Off the Beat 'n Track that's returning to the Big Red Barn in Irene on the 13th of April 2019. The event features routes for tiny tots, intermediate, advanced and competitive riders, plus a world-class music festival after the race and is set to be packed to capacity for its 3rd installment.
Liesl got some expert biking tips from her Breakfast with Martin Bester colleague, Elma Smit. Elma took Liesl through a few basic steps before letting the former Miss South Africa cycle on her.
OFF THE BEAT AND TRACK
Once the ride is done, participants and families can enjoy top-class performances from three of SA’s favourite live acts: Rubber Duc, Lloyd Cele, Dewald Wasserfall and DJ Jazzy D. While the music plays there’ll be Acrobranch for all ages, a designated kids area and an array of food trucks too.
EVENT DATE:
13th April 2019
VENUE:
The Big Red Barn, Irene
General Admission fee for non-cyclists is R80 for adults and R50 for kids under 12.
