Haribo rewards man who found its R83-million lost cheque with sweets

Imagine returning a cheque worth millions, only to be rewarded with six bags of sweets...

Since the 1920s, Haribo has been producing amazing sweets. 

With a footprint in different parts of the world, it comes as no surprise that the company makes millions of dollars. 

Recently, a cheque worth $4.7-million was picked up by a German man. 

He reportedly found the cheque on the floor of a train station in the city of Frankfurt, reports Fox Business.

The 38-year-old man, who is identified as Anouar, told Bild that he contacted Haribo after picking up the cheque. 

He says the company told him to destroy the cheque and send a picture of proof. 

He reportedly sent an email with proof that he had destroyed the cheque. To his surprise, the company rewarded him with six bags of sweets.

"I thought that was a bit cheap," Anouar told Bild.
