LIST: Helping your toddler get over their fear of darkness

Here’s a little help for your little person.

Toddler development stages vary with the years and in most cases, there is a stage for fear of darkness.

This fear of darkness does not have a fixed cause; it can randomly develop or maybe be a result of a transition from co-sleeping and/or being uncomfortable with sleeping alone.
Most parents start noticing the fear around age two. This is because a child’s thought process becomes more developed, and their surroundings can easily influence them.

They can be influenced by what they watch as well, for example, a show about a monster under their bed is most likely to have a negative influence on them. There are a few things parents and guardians can do to help their kids get over this fear.
