Pupil receives car as gift for seven Matric distinctions
This young man was left speechless after he received a car as a gift for passing his Matric with seven distinctions.
Congratulations to the class of 2023 which received its Matric results this week.
On Thursday, Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga announced that the class of 2023 has achieved an overall pass rate of 82.9%. This is a 2.8 percentage points increase compared to the class of 2022.
It is the highest pass rate in the history of the National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations.

Learner receives car for passing
One blessed learner received a car for passing his Grade 12.
According to a video posted by Peché Africa, the young man obtained seven distinctions.
In the video, the boy comes out of another car while being called by an elderly female voice.
"Come boy" calls the female, before adding, "Well done, son".
The young man can be seen holding his mouth in disbelief as he wipes his eyes while looking at his car covered with balloons.
He goes on to hug the female and others in the video.
The video has since gone viral on social media.
