R33,000 up for grabs for couples wanting to tie the knot in this Italian region
Updated | By Poelano Malema
If you have ever dreamt about a destination wedding in Italy, now is the time to make that dream a reality.
This Italian region is offering couples an opportunity to win R33,000 to have their dream wedding in Italy, in an effort to boost its economy post-pandemic.
€10 million (approximately R165-million) of COVID-19 recovery funds have been set aside for couples planning to tie the knot in any of the Roma, Frosinone, Latina, Rieti, and Viterbo regions.
The project is called Nel Lazio Con Amore (In Lazio with Love).
Couples don't only have to use the money for wedding expenses. They can also use some of the cash towards their honeymoon expenses - provided that they pick any Lazio-based companies.
The couples will be required to produce tax-official invoices proving that they spent the money on wedding expenses.
