Smart ways to entertain your child when at a restaurant that isn’t kid-friendly
Updated | By Poelano Malema
Do you dread going to restaurants because your child can't keep still for very long? Here is how you can make it an enjoyable time for the whole family without worrying about your little one.
Going out as a family to eat at a restaurant can be a challenge, especially if the restaurant is not kid-friendly.
However, there are fun things that you can do that can keep your little one entertained.
Pack toys
When preparing to go out, make sure to pack toys or activities that will keep your little one entertained.
Bring toys that can easily be placed on the table and won't cause a mess. Magnetic building blocks, stickers book, puzzles, and an activity book are great for this.

Bring a snack
Waiting for food that you have ordered can take a while, and your child might get impatient. So, it is advisable to pack a snack for your little one.
Go for a walk while waiting for the food
Most restaurants take some time to prepare the food. So, instead of expecting your little one to patiently wait for the food to arrive, take him or her on a walk. This will help pass the time.
Ask to have the meals served at the same time
Restaurants normally serve the kids before the adults. Having your kids' meals delivered before time might cause him or her to finish earlier and disturb you while you eat. Rather ask the restaurant to serve you the meals at the same time so you can all eat at the same time.
