WATCH: Baby tossed out of window of burning apartment by his dad

A recent video shared on social media shows a dad being directed by police and firefighters to toss his son out of their burning apartment’s window.

However, a traumatic moment for father and son ended with the son caught safely and the dad jumping out shortly after.

Both father and son were treated for minor injuries, and are two of 50 people affected by the fire in the burning building.

It was reported that the incident took place in New Jersey. Firefighters thought they had cleared the building before seeing the man sticking his head out of the window.

According to Fire Chief Scott Smith: “We were faced with extremely heavy fire conditions immediately on arrival, along with reports of people still inside. Fortunately, all of the occupants were able to escape the fire. If this fire was earlier in the morning when people may have been asleep, the outcome could have easily been tragic.”

The cause of the fire is currently being investigated.
