WATCH: A woman marries herself and becomes India’s first sologamist

Kshama Bindu, 24, has been reported to be the first person to have a solo wedding in India. Her ceremony included close family, friends, and some colleagues.

Just like every bride, she had planned her whole ceremony as one would a monogamous wedding ceremony in a temple with a priest, in the City of Vadodara. However, her vision of the ceremony was rejected by their political leader.

Turns out sologamy is a concept not supported by the Hindu religion, hence she had to continue with her marriage elsewhere and not at the temple

She finally managed to have her wedding following the rituals of ‘mehendi’ and ‘haldi’ for body art and the use of turmeric for the body cleansing ceremony.
