Saturday, October 5, is World Teachers' Day. The theme for this year's celebration is “Young Teachers: The Future of the Profession".

To celebrate teachers and the work they do, we are taking a look at some of the funny things that happen in the classroom that we can all relate to.

These videos by YouTube star Lasizwe will leave you in stitches.

Afrikaans class be like...

Next to maths, Afrikaans was one of those classes you needed to carry tissue paper to - you know, for all the tears you will be crying.

But not all tears were the result of failing to understand "trappe van vergelyking". Many pupils were crying tears of laughter because of all the craziness that went on in Afrikaans class.

It was survival of the fittest, which sometimes meant reading YOU magazine, which is printed in English, to understand the Afrikaans version of the same story in Huisgenoot - all so you can look like a genius during your oral.

Afrikaans exams be like...

Kleenex was also needed for Afrikaans exams, though mostly for tears of sadness and regret. Don't get us started on the pupils who answered Afrikaans test questions by simply looking for a paragraph with similar words.

When the exams showed you "flames"...

The worst part about school tests was walking out of the exam room and hearing your smart friends arguing about the correct answers.

Getting your test results like...

After all the drama, getting your test results was probably the most stressful part. Though, let's face it, many learners were just happy to pass, even if it meant JUST making it.
