If you're looking for a tasty treat to whip up at home during the lockdown, then look no further than this chocolate cluster recipe.
Capsicum Culinary Studio has tasked its chef lecturers at their six campuses around the country to come up with delicious dishes for the whole family to enjoy.
Chef Bernice Warner from the chef school’s Port Elizabeth campus is sharing her chocolate cluster recipe, which makes for a sweet movie night or lunchbox treat.
Lunch Box Chocolate Cluster:
(Makes eight to 10 and takes 15 to 20 minutes)
Ingredients:
125g dark chocolate
30g mixed, chopped nuts
30g salted pretzels, broken into small pieces
25g mini marshmallows
Equipment needed:
Wax paper
Heat resistant glass bowl to melt the chocolate
Tablespoon
Clear packets or plastic containers.
Method:
- Melt chocolate over double boiler on the stove or in the microwave in short intervals (mix in between) until melted.
- Add all the ingredients to the melted chocolate and ensure they are well coated. Using a tablespoon, scoop ball shaped heaps of the cluster mixture and put onto a piece of wax paper/baking paper and allow to set until the chocolate is firm.
- Peel off the paper and store the chocolate clusters in clear plastic packets or in a plastic container.
