A heartwarming "Love Wins" moment at Pretoria Boys

The Matric dance was made so much more special for Josh Harper and Ryan Nortjé when they were allowed to attend the Pretoria Boys High School as a same-sex couple.

In October 2017, at the height of Matric dance season, Rian decided to ask listeners of the Scenic Drive to send through pictures of their children all dolled up for the big night.
One picture stood out from the rest, as it marked a historical moment in the lives of the two boys involved, Josh Harper and Ryan Nortjé.
Josh and Ryan are students at Pretoria Boys, and they wanted to attend the dance as a couple.

Fortunately for them, the 2017 Matric dance came at a moment when the school's administration was finally ready to move up with the times, and allow same-sex couples to attend the dance.
Josh spoke to Rian about how this was the first time in the history of the school that same-sex couples could attend the dance.<iframe src="https://embed.iono.fm/epi/481859" width="100%" height="135" frameborder="0"><a href="https://iono.fm/e/481859">Content hosted by iono.fm</a></iframe>
Josh and Ryan's story received an overwhelmingly positive response from listeners of the Scenic Drive:
This was a wonderful gesture by Pretoria Boys.
