She revealed that the song allowed her to delve into her insecurities.

"I don't think I've delved this far into my insecurities in this detail before. I struggle a lot with the idea that my life has become unmanageably sized, and not to sound too dark, I struggle with the idea of not feeling like a person," she said.

She says although she opened up about her insecurities, she doesn't want people to feel bad for her.

"Don't feel bad for me, you don't need to," she said.

The 'Shake It Off' hitmaker says the new song is a tour through all she hates about herself.

"But this song is a real guided tour throughout all the things I tend to hate about myself. We all hate things about ourselves and it's all of those aspects of the things we dislike and like about ourselves that we have to come to terms with if we are gonna be this person," she said.

The award-winning singer ended by saying that she loves the song because of how transparent she is in the song.

" So I like 'Anti Hero' a lot because I think it is really honest," she said.

Her new album 'Midnights' has thirteen tracks and comes out on October 21.
