Taylor Swift tops Billboard’s Power 100 list
Taylor Swift has gained another accolade!
Congratulations to Taylor Swift who has just topped Billboard’s Power 100 list.
The list was released on 31 January 2024.
This is the first time that the 'Lover' hitmaker topped the list which ranks the most impactful music industry executives and power players.
'When we sit down every year to rank the most powerful people in the music business, we often start by looking at the highest-grossing tours, the most-streamed songs and albums, the top deals and the biggest cultural moments — and then we identify the masterminds behind them,' states Billboard.
Taylor was praised for the tremendous work she did.
'This year, though, the mastermind behind most of the industry’s record-breaking achievements — from a historic stadium run that fueled an unprecedented rule atop the Billboard 200 albums chart to the most profitable concert film of all time — was an artist herself. Taylor Swift doesn’t refer to herself publicly as an executive, but she designed and executed one of the most ambitious, innovative and successful business plans the music industry has ever seen,' wrote Billboard.
Taylor was followed by the chairman/ CEO of Universal Music Group, Lucian Grainge, who was ranked second on the list followed by the chairman of Sony Music Group, Rob Stringer.

In December, Taylor was also named Time Person of the Year.
Her tour also made history. According to a report by AFP, 'Taylor's tour broke new ground, becoming the first in history to surpass the symbolic $1 billion mark in ticket sales in 60 dates from March to November 2023'.
