Popular new Afrikaans artist, Corné Pretorius has been winning over many fans since the release of his 2020 debut songs and radio hits, 'Vuur en Vlam', 'Vergewe My', and 'Halfvol.'

Pretorius says that it was a natural progression to record a 'lekker-fun song' for his fourth single.
"I am excited that as a new artist I have the privilege to collaborate with Die Heuwels and Ampie. You can imagine that this is so exciting/next level for me! There is currently a lot of stress in the world. So, we wanted to do something totally easy and chilled. I think we can all do with a bit of a break at this point.”
On recording the song, Pretorius explained that the idea was to organise a family day and to record 'Biertjies' while also relaxing and having a braai with the spectacular scenery at Sunset Studios in Stellenbosch.
The music video of the single consists of the footage that was taken on this unforgettable day.
Hunter Kennedy wrote the lyrics of the song.
"With the writing of this song, I was looking to find a common denominator that represents the good things in life. The image that stuck with me was that of having a beer with one`s friends around a campfire. Loving weekends, Wednesdays and holidays, getting together and enjoying life is something that we all have in common,” Kennedy says.
