Many of The Weeknd's fans were left disappointed on Saturday after the star abruptly ended his set at the SoFi Stadium near Los Angeles.

The Weeknd was singing his hit 'Can't Feel My Face' when he left the stage and then shortly returned to announce that he is stopping the show.

He told the stunned audience that he could not give them the show he wanted to give them, then promised them a refund and a reschedule.

"I'm going to make sure everyone is good, you'll get your money back," he said to the crowd.

"But I'll do a show real soon for you guys."

"I can't give you what I want to give you," he added.

He later went on to Twitter to explain that the reason he couldn't continue with the show was because of vocal issues.

He claimed that his voice disappointed him and he was left devastated.

"My voice went out during the first song and I'm devastated," he wrote.

He apologised to his fans.

"Felt it go and my heart stopped. My deepest apologies to my fans here. I promise I'll make it up to you with a new date."

Many of his fans, however, questioned how he was able to speak if his voice went out.

The star was hosting the LA show as part of his 'After Hours til Dawn Tour' which was previously postponed due to COVID-19.

His next show is scheduled to take place on September 22 in Toronto.
