Theuns Jordaan will be in studio for Friday Live on 9 May and you can see him at Jacaranda Day. Here are four reasons why we love him.
Theuns remains one of South Africa’s most loved singer-songwriters. He has solidified himself as a national treasure and has truly earned the title of 'The Golden Voice of South African Music' . Theuns received a Ghoema award for collective sales of more than 1 million at 1,3 million sold.
1) His first two albums, Vreemde stad and Tjailatyd, both sold more than 200 000 each
2) In 2013 he won a SAMA for Beste Kontemporêre Musiek Album and also the SAMA for Best selling CDin South Africa
3) A huge fan of the music of Koos du Plessis, in April 2009 he released Cold Fire. It achieved platinum status and sales at over 100,000.
4) He won a Ghoema for the top selling album of the year in South Africa.
