An online flight tracking website has revealed that Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe's plane flew to Singapore.
It had been reported Mugabe, 92, was in India for the World Culture Festival.
Officials have been claiming Mugabe was set to be the guest of honour for the three-day Indian cultural event starting Friday.
Mugabe left Zimbabwe for India on Monday aboard an Air Zimbabwe plane.
The website, www.flightradar24.com/, revealed that Mugabe flew to Singapore aboard and Air Zimbabwe UM1 Boeing 767-2 NDER, registration Z-WFP.
The plane left Harare at 16:37 hours on Monday and landed in Singapore the next morning at 02:38 hours.
The Zimbabwean leader frequently visits Singapore for his medical treatment and check-ups.
First to lift the lid was higher and tertiary education minister, Jonathan Moyo, who tweeted on social media site Twitter that: "He is and was not in India, as much as you want him to be there".
Mugabe's Press secretary, George Charamba, said in a statement on Wednesday Mugabe had cancelled his sojourn to India, citing security concerns.
"His Excellency the President RG Mugabe, has called off his engagement in India, where he was scheduled to be guest of honour at the World Culture Festival."
He was expected to be out of the country for 10 days. - ANA
