Nene resigns as ANC MP
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
Former finance minister Nhlanhla Nene has resigned as an ANC MP.
The ANC's Moloto Mothapo confirmed that Nene tendered his resignation in December.
"Unfortunately, this letter does not indicate the reasons for his resignation, so we are in no position to provide reasons", says Mothapo.
President Jacob Zuma removed Nene as finance minister in early December last year, replacing him with David van Rooyen.
The subsequent fallout led to Zuma removing Van Rooyen a few days after his appointment, and re-appointing former finance minister Pravin Gordhan to the position.
