Thabazimbi municipal property seized
Updated | By Maidi Monareng
The Thabazimbi municipal offices have been left empty after its property was seized by the sheriff of the court.
The municipality has failed to pay its service providers.
Newly-elected mayor of the Thabazimbi Residents' Association Midah Moselane says officials knew about the property seizure six weeks ago, but failed to inform the new council.
"We're trying to get lawyers to help us at least to leave a computer for the community to get services so they can pay their water and electricity bills."
Moselane says the officials withheld the information deliberately.
She adds that a council meeting will be held on Thursday for the officials to account to council.
Moselane says legal representatives will assist the municipality in seeking help from the department of cooperative governance.
