Two SABC board members resign
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
Two non-executive members of the SABC board on Wednesday announced their resignations before Parliament.
The SABC board was answering questions in front of the Portfolio Committee on Communications after it made headlines recently over affairs at the public broadcaster.
The board also had to explain its latest decision to reappoint former COO Hlaudi Motsoeneng in the position of Group Executive of Corporate Affairs.
Krish Naidoo and Vusi Mavuso both criticised the SABC during the briefing.
While Mavuso said the board was committing institutional genocide, Naidoo called for it to be dissolved.
"The case of Mr Motsoeneng as Chief Executive: Corporate Affairs, what I'm saying is that there was no proper procedure followed. When I'm listening to this CEO here saying someone gave him advice...when I listen to an executive at this level talking in such mundane terms, it actually makes out the case why this board should be dissolved," Naidoo said.
