The SA Weather Service has issued a warning of heavy falls of rain expected in places over the Cape Metropole, Overberg and southern parts of Cape Winelands in the afternoon into evening.

Northern Cape: Cold on the southern high ground, otherwise fine and cool but partly cloudy along the coast with morning fog patches. Strong winds are expected over the southern interior.

Western Cape: Warm in places in the east, otherwise partly cloudy and cool but cloudy and cold in the west with rain spreading to the south-coast and adjacent interior by evening.

Eastern Cape: Fine and warm becoming cloudy and cool along the south-coast in the evening with isolated showers west of Port Elizabeth.
