Preliminary election results reveal that the ANC's lost significantly in this year's polls.

This comes after allegations of sexual harassment against Fransman left his party without a leader for most of its election campaign in the Cape.

The DA has increased its lead in the Western Cape to 63,55% with the ANC's support that dropped to 25,84%

A Political analyst from the Stellenbosch University, Professor Amanda Gouws, says the Marius Fransman-factor cannot be ignored as it cost the ruling party dearly.
