Battle for Gauteng metros continue
The DA and the ANC are both keeping a close eye on Gauteng as the vote count trickles in.
The two parties are neck-and-neck in two of the most hotly contested metros in the country - Johannesburg and Tshwane.

By 5.00pm, 82 percent of the votes have been counted, with the ANC in the lead in Gauteng with 45.44 percent, followed by the DA with 38.03 percent and the EFF with 11.05 percent.
