Updated | By MorneJK
The Acting National Police Commissioner, Khomotso Phahlane addressed the media in Pretoria on Wednesday afternoon.

Phahlane says they have been running a 24-hour national operations centre for the past few days and that more than 75 000 police members have been deployed across the country on Election Day.
Police members are also assisted by members from the Intelligence services as well as the South African National Defence Force.
Phahlane confirmed that a total of 279 000 personnel have been deployed to ensure that voting runs smoothly in the 2016 municipal elections.
Despite a string of hiccups cited at voting stations this morning, the independent electoral commission says its confident things will run smoothly for the rest of the day.
