DA pleased with Nelson Mandela Bay lead
Updated | By AlgoaFM
DA Mayoral Candidate in Nelson Mandela Bay, Athol Trollip says he's pleased with the way the vote is shaping up for his party.
The DA was at 50.1 percent to the ANC's 38.91 percent, with 79 percent of the votes counted and verified.
Speaking to Algoa FM News, Trollip said he's not getting too excited too soon.
"I've been in this movie long enough to know you can't get too excited too early, but it has shown that people are prepared to vote for change. We've seen a fantastic swing in Kouga Municipality where people have actually changed the government and that is what democracy is about," he said.
Meanwhile, the ANC and DA are neck-and-neck in the other two hotly contested metros - Johannesburg and Tshwane.
