Elections 2016: Results at 17:00
The Independent Electoral Commission is heading into the last stretch as they count the ballots cast in the Local Government Election.
78 percent of the national votes have been counted.
Here is how counting is coming along in the provinces:
Gauteng - 52 percent
Limpopo - 70 percent
Mpumalanga - 80 percent
North West - 71 percent
KwaZulu Natal - 75 percent
Eastern Cape - 91 percent
Western Cape - 87 percent
Northern Cape - 100 percent
Free State - 91 percent
The ANC is in the lead with 53.63 percent, followed by the DA with 27.41 percent and the EFF with 7.4 percent.
