Maimane hits out at Zuma over racial comment
Updated | By Samkele Maseko
DA leader Mmusi Maimane says no politician has the right to divide South Africans across racial lines.
Maimane was reacting to comments by President Jacob Zuma who slated black South Africans for voting for the DA.
The DA says all South Africans must honour former president Nelson Mandela's dream by voting for their party.
Maimane says his party is the only one that embraces the dream of non-racial and prosperous South Africa.
The DA launched a new election poster featuring the late former president.

"We are saying the values of Nelson Mandela were timeless. They were values that all South Africans from all races stood and fought for. It was in the words of Oliver Tambo who said our ideal is to fight for a South Africa where black and white can stand together united and equal. When you understand the pursuit for a non-racial South Africa, a South Africa for all then you can't say politics must be divided on racial lines," he said.
Maimane also says the DA isn't claiming that President Mandela would have been be a member of the DA if he was still alive, but they are merely embracing his legacy.
