Political parties patiently waiting for results
Updated | By MornéJK
It's been a frustratingly slow counting morning for Gauteng where a neck-in-neck battle is on the cards between the ANC and DA in Johannesburg and Tshwane.

The ANC leads in Ekhuruleni, Merafong, Randfontein, Emfuleni and Lesedi while the DA manged to hold on to Midvaal with an increased majority.
It also maintained a lead in the fiercely contested Rustenburg local municipality in the North West while the Democratic Alliance was leading the vote count in the City of Johannesburg with 41.78 percent on Friday morning.
The Democratic Alliance's James Selfe confirmed that they have been talking to different parties about the forming of coalitions in municipalities where no party is likely tor achieve an outright majority.
He believes it would not be too difficult to form allicances between parties who seem to be on different ends of the ideological spectrum.
The ANC's Zizi Kodwa told Jacaranda FM News that they are starting to feel the brunt of spending most of their time at the national results operation centre.
Spokesperson for the Congress Of The People, Dennis Bloom told Jacaranda FM News that they are dissapointed with their performance during the local government elections.
The Freedom Front Plus leader, Pieter Mulder says they are happy as they gained votes in different areas.
He said that due to budget constraints they had to scale down on campaigning ahead of the elections.
The EFF's Mbuyiseni Ndlozi thanked South Africans for entrusting them with their votes.
