President Zuma campaigns in Tembisa

ANC President Jacob Zuma has spent the day campaigning in Tembisa ahead of the 3 August polls.
The president was presented with a list of demands by hostel dwellers, who are demanding better living conditions.

President Zuma was given a warm welcome by residents of Tembisa, but was urged to speed up the delivery of houses and improved sanitation, especially in hostels.

ANC Mayoral Candidate Mzwandile Masina promised that the ANC would build a hundred thousand houses over the next five years.
"We are undertaking, having looked into our budgets and our programme in government that over the next five years we are going to build 100 000 houses for the entire people of Ekurhuleni," he said.
Tembisa is largely seen as an EFF stronghold.
