Three ANC candidates recently killed win in their wards
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
Three ANC candidates who were gunned down leading up to the local government elections have all emerged victorious in the wards they had been contesting.

Bongani Skhosana from ward 1 in the Umuziwabantu Municipality in Ugu, Thembi Mbongo of ward 6 in Newcastle and Khanyisile Ngobese-Sibisi of ward 20 in Ladysmith were among more than a dozen people killed before the elections with their murder thought to have been politically motivated.
ANC KZN spokesperson Mdumiseni Ntuli says this proves the candidates' dedication did not go unnoticed.
"We know that wherever they are, they are smiling with the rest of the ANC agents. As they see the ANC, they reminisce of the party for which they died working fo succeeding very well in the wards which they were representing so we are very happy.
"We have made great strides and progress in the province as a whole and we thank them in their absence," he said.
