Actress mourns mother's death

Known for her roles in popular film Getroud met Ruby (Married to Rugby), and critically acclaimed new Afrikaans movie Die Windpomp (The Windmill), Leandie uploaded an old photo to Instagram to honour her mother, who died on 5 May, after a short illness.

"Will miss you forever MOMMY. You sparkled. #Rip," she wrote alongside the photograph of her mother as a young woman.

She has since also taken to Facebook to thank her fans for all their support

Wrote the young actress: "I just want to genuinely say thank you for all the messages and telephone calls I've received. You are each so special to me and it just lets me realise once again how important our people and loved ones are to us and that we should fully appreciate each other every day. Many blessings for everyone."
