Adele didn't snub Phil Collins for 25

Adele insists she didn't snub Phil Collins for her album '25' after he called her "slippery little fish" for not using their collaboration on her LP.

The 'Hello' hitmaker worked with the Genesis star last year, before she officially began recording her record-breaking third LP, and although Phil thought his song just didn't make the cut, Adele has now claimed the reason the track didn't make the cut was because she wasn't "ready" and was prioritising looking after her three-year-old son Angelo, her child with partner Simon Konecki.

She explained: "I met up with him (Phil) and he was so nice. He's such a genius.

"But I met up with him in London super-early, like well before I was starting the record. And I had this song in mind and I can't remember if I gave him a copy of the song or if I gave him a chorus or something, and then I just chickened out of everything. I went, 'Oh, I'm not ready.' And he called me a slippery fish!"

The 27-year-old superstar insists there is "no bad blood" on her part over the track.

She told Rolling Stone magazine: "I think he interpreted it that I decided I didn't want to work with him, but actually I decided I didn't want to write a record, period, at that point. But yeah, there's no bad blood there, or certainly not on my half."

The 64-year-old rocker was recruited to collaborate with the multi-million selling singer but believed he'd been snubbed when Adele failed to get back in touch when he sent her his progress on a number of tracks.

A source previously revealed: "Over the past few months, Phil has been working on the tracks once again."

He'd originally said "She's a slippery little fish is Adele" in an interview because he couldn't get hold of her.
