Angelina Jolie has countersued Brad Pitt over the wine business they previously co-owned together.

Jolie is suing Brad for $250-million (around R4.3-billion). The news comes after Brad filed a lawsuit against his ex-wife in February 2022. He was suing Angelina for illegally selling her shares of Miraval - a French company the two bought together in 2008 which includes a chateau and vineyard.

Angelina has also filed her own lawsuit, claiming that her ex-husband devised a campaign to "seize control" of Chateau Miraval.

"In retaliation for the divorce and custody proceedings, Pitt embarked on a multi-faceted, years-long campaign to seize control of Chateau Miraval and appropriate the company's assets for his benefit and that of his own companies and friends," E! Online quoted parts of the lawsuit.

"Appointing himself the rightful owner of Chateau Miraval, his twin objectives were to usurp the value of Jolie's company, Nouvel, and to obtain sole ownership of Chateau Miraval," reads the lawsuit.

According to the lawsuit Pitt "wasted" the Chateau's assets, "spending millions on vanity projects, including more than $1 million on swimming pool renovations and other funds restoring a recording studio."

Angelina and Brad got married on the property in 2014, but divorced in 2016.

They had reportedly agreed not to sell their share of the property without each other's consent.
