Arnold Vosloo talks about being back in South Africa and the new 'Griekwastad' movie

The film telling the story of the horrific Griekwastad murders is currently showing on Box Office.

In April 2012, the brutal murder of the Steenkamp family left South Africans reeling and also made international news.
Deon (44), Christelle (43), and their 14-year-old daughter Marthella were brutally murdered on their farm, Naauwhoek. Marthella was also raped prior to the murder. Don Steenkamp, the 15-year-old son, was convicted of the family’s murder in 2014.

This is the gripping story of the plotline to 'Griekwastad' the movie that will hit the cinemas within the next few months. The film is directed by Jozua Malherbe and the screenplay is written by Tertius Kapp. It stars Alex van Dyk, Tim Theron, and world-renowned South African actor, Arnold Vosloo.
‘Griekwastad’ debuted to a packed audience at the annual KykNET Silwerskerm Film Festival in 2019. Vosloo, who is currently in Cape Town to promote the film, was also in attendance.

"Afrikaans is the most beautiful language in the world," he said after the screening at The Bay Hotel. Vosloo further mentioned that he did not want to meet the colonel who he is playing on screen, but rather only read his diary from that time. “He was so meticulous with his notes and diary."
Vosloo also thanked director Jozua Malherbe for making such a beautiful movie.
