Beware of a Muvhango audition scam

The production team of the popular SABC 2 soapie, Muvhango has issued a warning to wannabe actors not to fall prey to an audition scam.
According to reports scammers are charging fans R300 to secure them an audition or screening with people mascarading as producers of the show.
The production's associate producer,Morishe Matlejoane told Sowetan Live that the scammers have posed as Becky Casting Agency - a casting agency that they have been working with for years.
The fraudsters got a hold of official documentation of the casting agency which they use to lure people into paying R300 for auditions.
"As a result of this scam we've had to cut ties with the agency that we have been doing business with for years," Matlejoane said.
He also added that it's important to note that no fee is ever charged for auditions or screenings and that any company or person that does this, is committing fraud.
"We would like to encourage the victims of this scam to report the matter at the police station nearest to the venue of the bogus auditions," Matlejoane urged.
