Boity Thulo has opened up about why she underwent breast reduction surgery. The 33-year-old rapper revealed in an Instagram post that she had the procedure earlier this year.

"4 months ago on the 28th of Feb, I decided to take the plunge and do a procedure that benefitted me in more ways than I thought it would. A mastopexy which is a breast reduction and lift," she wrote.

The 'Wuz Dat' rapper also praised her surgeon, Dr. Bruce Lelala, for giving her peace of mind throughout the process.

"This is a post to thank Dr Bruce not only for his incredible work but for his care and compassion throughout the healing process…from random calls of me stressing to taking out the time to go the extra mile regardless of what I felt I needed in order to give me peace of mind," the 33-year-old said.

Boity added that she is also proud that she got to work "with one of the best, most qualified black surgeons in the continent".

She also teased that she will be calling him again for a "mommy makeover" when the time comes.

Boity revealed in a previous interview with Dr. Lelala that even though she has been in the industry for over 13 years, people still want her to look 23.

"I have been body shamed, and it's very tricky. The pressure is always so burdensome... people expect you to look your best every single time, at every moment, at every stage of your life."

Boity says she decided to have the surgery as having bigger breasts affected her daily life. She couldn't work out properly and also had excruciating back pain.

"It also affected me very negatively in terms of how clothes would look or I just would not fit into certain things. All of that, honestly, just became a massive psychological mess," she explained.

'Real Housewives of Durban' star JoJo Robinson recently opened about her decision to undergo a mommy makeover on 'The Carol Ofori Podcast'.

She told Carol that she spent more than R800,000 on several procedures, including breast augmentation surgery, liposuction, and a tummy tuck.

“I don’t think I can count... but all together maybe 20 plus. Major surgeries maybe six or seven. My first surgery was a plain breast augmentation… ” she said.
