Celebs step out in couture creations for Met Gala

The Met is known for outrageous fashion statements and it is standard for celebs to dress over the top, but as we all know there is a fine line between couture and looking like a hot mess.

The Met Gala, that was formally known at the Costume Institute Gala, is an annual fundraising event for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in New York City. 

It marks the grand opening of the Costume Institute's annual fashion exhibit and each year's event celebrates the theme of a given exhibition.

Celebrities are expected to showcase Avant Garde creations with top designers like Versace, Dior and Karl Lagerfeld who were all to keen to dress Hollywood's finest for the event.

Rihanna is known for nailing her red-carpet look and this year was no difference, but the women who turned heads was Celine Dion who attended the Met for the first time ever this year.

She stepped out in a Versace creation and looked amazing.
