Cher is not ready to give up on fighting for the conservatorship of her 47-year-old son Elijah Blue Allman, despite two previous failed attempts.

According to a report by the Blast, the mother insists that her son's "untreated mental illness" and drug addiction cause him to mismanage the money his finances.

Cher states in legal documents obtained by the Blast that "a conservatorship of [Elijah's] estate is appropriate and the least restrictive alternative" for "Elijah to properly care for his property."

In the documents, Cher claims Elijah has a "well-established pattern" of failing to manage his financial resources.

She also claimed that Elijah has no savings, despite receiving over one million dollars in distributions from his trust following his father, Greg Allman's death in 2017.

Blast quoted the legal document: "[Cher] is informed and believes that despite receiving over a $1,000,000 in distributions from the trust since his father's death in 2017, Elijah has no savings. [Cher] is informed and believes that Elijah's untreated mental illness and addiction exacerbates his inability to manage his finances because when he is experiencing psychosis or using illicit substances, he lacks the ability to make decisions, let alone rational decisions, about his finances."

Cher previously attempted to fight for the conservatorship but did not succeed.

Following the new status update, another hearing is scheduled to take place in June.

A report by Rolling Stone states that "a Los Angeles judge refused to dismiss Cher's bid for a conservatorship over her adult son Elijah Blue Allman's finances on Wednesday, instead granting the singer a three-month delay to gather medical records and pursue a private settlement ahead of a new June 11 hearing".
