The 26-year-old singer is reportedly cutting back on his alcohol intake and curbing his club-hopping now that he has joint temporary custody of the tot with her mother Nia Guzman.

A source told HollywoodLife.com: "Chris is weening himself off drinking and other stuff he does because he wants to be healthy, have a clear mind, and be a completely conscious and sober parent. He doesn't want anyone or anything clouding his mind or judgement.

"He wants to witness every little single thing Royalty does with a clear mind. He wants to fill his mind with sober memories of her doing the smallest things like tying her shoes, being potty trained, you name it. His life and world is now Royalty and everything else that doesn't serve that he's cutting out!"

Chris was granted joint temporary custody of baby Royalty earlier this month following a bitter court battle with Nia.

Under the judge's ruling, Chris and Nia will rotate custody of 15 month old Royalty every four days.

They have been ordered to go into mediation to work out a long-term custody agreement, however, if one cannot be agreed upon they will continue to rotate the child every four days - with a trial being scheduled to determine long-term custody.

It's claimed that Nia's lawyers also requested that Chris' mother be present whenever he has custody of little Royalty.

Chris will continue to pay $2,500 a month child support, with the judge denying Nia's request to increase the payments to $15,000.
