Eminem's brother says he's his 'best role model'
Updated | By Poelano Malema
“He was the best role model I could have had to help me be the dad that I am today."
Eminem is one of the biggest stars in the world.
Many of his followers only get to experience him through his music, but have you ever wondered how he is around his family?
Eminem‘s younger brother, Nathan ‘Nate’ Mathers, was recently interviewed by Eminem's daughter, Hailie Jade. They got to talk about life when they were growing up.
Jade started by explaining that the two of them grew up together and Nate is more like a sibling to her, rather than an uncle.
“Nate is my uncle – my dad’s younger brother – but also we kind of grew up together because Nate lived with us for a while when I was young.
“So he is kind of like a broncle. I would say brother-uncle," said Jade during the Just A Little Shady podcast.
"You definitely act younger than your age. I always think that we are closer in age than you are to [my] dad, but still, I never realise how much older you are than me because I feel like you are like a brother,” said Jade.

Nate said he understood how big Eminem was when he started seeing him on television and he also shared how he first went to his show when he was 12.
"I started understanding a little more when reality would hit when I would start seeing [Eminem] on TV and going to shows and all the signatures and crazy people,” said Nate.
He also spoke about how influential Eminem has been to him.
“He was the best role model I could have had to help me be the dad that I am today,” Nate told Jade.
Nate also spoke about how he used to take clothes from Eminem.
"He would get so many free clothes and buy clothes that I would just take some," he said.
