According to newspaper reports the duo went for their first sonar earlier, whereafter she posted on her website that if they fell pregnant, it's going to have to be twins so that she can catch up with her brother Bobby van Jaarsveld.
Meanwhile a public spat took place on twitter after the news broke - with Karlien saying she would have wanted to make the announcement herself.
"Momager" Ronel Brink soon followed suit by adding that the media can't be trusted.

Karlien and Derick got married in March this year after their innitial wedding date was postponed.
She announced her pregnancy shortly after and it was confirmed on the Martin Bester Drive.
